26 mati dalam serangan pengebom berani mati di Baghdad

BAGHDAD 21 Jun – Seramai 26 orang terbunuh manakala 53 yang lain cedera apabila pengebom berani mati memandu dan meletupkan diri dalam dua buah kereta di kawasan yang padat di ibu kota Baghdad semalam.

Pengebom berani mati itu menjadikan bank perdagangan Iraq cawangan Baghdad yang melibatkan transaksi tukaran wang asing antara kerajaan dan pelabur asing sebagai sasaran.

Bank berkenaan berada pada laluan Arab Sunni yang sibuk di daerah Mansur yang menyediakan akses dari barat Iraq kepada zone hijau kerajaan dan kompleks kedutaan di pusat bandar.

Menurut satu kenyataan oleh pegawai pemerintah operasi ibu kota, dua buah kereta pengebom berani mati itu masing-masing membawa muatan 80 kilogram bahan peledak amonium nitrat untuk diledakkan pada serangan itu. – AFP
