Jet pejuang Libya terus membunuh rakyat

AJDABIYAH, Libya 15 Mac – Jet-jet tentera Libya yang setia kepada Muammar Gaddafi terus membedil pemberontak semalam dalam satu pertempuran sengit yang memaksa kumpulan itu berundur kira-kira 160 kilometer dari kawasan yang mereka kuasai dalam tempoh seminggu, sekali gus menyukarkan lagi usaha menguatkuasakan zon larangan terbang bagi membantu pemberontak.

Kelewatan menguatkuasakan zon tersebut kemungkinan menyaksikan tentera Gaddafi memenangi krisis di Libya sebaik-baik ia dilaksanakan nanti.

Tiada persetujuan dicapai tentang usaha membantu pemberontak pada satu pertemuan Majlis Keselamatan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) di New York, semalam atau mesyuarat Menteri-Menteri Luar Kumpulan 8 (G8) di Paris.

“Soalan-soalan penting perlu dijawab, bukan sahaja tentang apa yang perlu kita lakukan tetapi bagaimana ia akan dilaksanakan,” kata Duta Rusia, Vitaly Churkin di New York.

Di Paris, Menteri Luar Itali, Franco Frattini berkata, G8 mahu Majlis Keselamatan menyambung semula perbincangan secepat mungkin, tetapi menteri-menterinya masih belum dapat mencapai kata sepakat berhubung penguatkuasaan zon larangan terbang di Libya apabila Rusia dan Jerman masih belum meluluskannya.

Sementara itu, meriam dan kereta-kereta kebal tentera Libya semalam berjaya menawan kembali bandar kecil Zuwarah, kira-kira 120 kilometer di barat Tripoli selepas satu letupan besar berlaku, kata seorang penduduk, Tarek Abdallah.

Tentera juga dilapor berjaya merampas sebahagian besar kawasan di timur Libya yang sebelum ini dikuasai pemberontak.

Pasukan keselamatan itu merampas bandar terminal minyak penting Brega, malam Ahad lalu dan mengikuti rapat kumpulan pemberontak serta mengebom bandar Ajdabiyah, sebuah bandar yang terletak antara Brega dan Benghazi.

Presiden Liga Hak Kemanusiaan Libya, Soliman Bouchuiguir di Geneva berkata, sekiranya tentera Gaddafi yang dilengkapi senjata berat berjaya menembusi Benghazi, satu pertumpahan darah besar-besaran seperti di Rwanda mungkin berlaku. – Reuters
