Pejuang Libya mara

BENGHAZI 27 Mac – Pemberontak Libya hari ini meneruskan kemaraan selepas menawan semula empat bandar utama daripada tentera Muammar Gaddafi dalam kemenangan pertama mereka sejak kuasa Barat melancarkan serangan udara.

Pemberontak yang sebelum ini berada di ambang kekalahan di kubu kuat mereka, Benghazi di timur Libya sebelum serangan tentera bersekutu dilancarkan pada 19 Mac lalu, menawan semula Ajdabiya dan Brega, 160 dan 240 kilometer ke barat, semalam sebelum kembali menguasai bandar minyak Ras Lanuf hari ini.

Bandar Bin Jawad, kira-kira 50 kilometer ke selatan Ras Lanuf turut berjaya di tawan hari ini selepas mengambil kesempatan daripada serangan udara Perancis yang memusnahkan kereta kebal tentera Gaddafi.

Mendapat dorongan daripada serangan udara itu, mereka hari ini mensasarkan pekan Al-Bisher, 30 kilometer lagi ke barat, di jalan menghala ke bandar kelahiran Gaddafi, Sirte.

Di Tripoli, jurucakap kerajaan Mussa Ibrahim malam tadi berkata, serangan udara tentera bersekutu bukan sekadar membunuh askar tetapi juga penduduk awam di sepanjang jalan di antara Ajdabiya dan Sirte.

“Malam ini serangan udara ke atas negara kami diteruskan dengan sehebat-hebatnya dan kami mengalami banyak korban jiwa di kalangan anggota tentera dan orang awam,” kata Ibrahim.

Beliau mengulangi seruan supaya gencatan senjata diisytiharkan dan sidang tergempar diadakan oleh Majlis Keselamatan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) yang meluluskan campur tangan ketenteraan itu bagi menghalang rejim Gaddafi daripada menyerang penduduk awam.

Namun Setiausaha Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat (AS), Robert Gates dalam wawancara disiarkan hari ini menuduh tentera Gaddafi menempatkan mayat ‘penduduk yang dibunuhnya’ di lokasi serangan udara tentera bersekutu, bagi menggambarkan seolah-olah merekalah mangsa serangan itu.

Serangan udara tentera bersekutu itu diperhebatkan semalam dengan 160 misi serangan, berbanding 153 kelmarin, menurut Pentagon.

Di barat Libya, jet pejuang Perancis memusnahkan sekurang-kurangnya lima pesawat perang dan dua helikopter tentera Gaddafi di kawasan Zintan dan Misrata semalam, sementara lima kereta berperisai Libya di musnahkan dalam serangan udara pesawat Britain di Ajdabiya dan Misrata kelmarin.

Semalam, pemberontak dengan bantuan bedilan udara Barat itu membanjiri Ajdabiya, di mana kereta kebal dan kenderaan tentera yang musnah berselerak di jalan raya. – AFP
